This week I wanted to focus on essential (in my opinion) WordPress plugins that you should consider when building a new WordPress website. These suggestions are made with everyone in mind, so if you are a DIYer, a web designer or an agency, these should be useful to you.
Now I strongly believe if you’re going to spend your time and effort building a beautiful website and filling it with great content, then it’s essential to have it backed up, especially where your business or livelihood is concerned. Then if the worst does then happen you have a way to recover your lost data.
With that in mind I wanted to start with UpDraftPlus – which lets you create scheduled backups of your website and database, then save them to an off site location like DropBox, Google Drive, or via FTP, all for better redundancy.
Please be aware that most web hosting companies are highly unlikely to keep regular backups of your website on hand unless you are paying extra, so do yourself a favor and invest a few minutes of your time to make sure you have everything backed up now. It will be worth it in the future.
If you want any advice about using UpDraftPlus along with any of the free storage options mentioned please let me know and I’ll be happy to help.
